Can Drinking Water Help Me Lose Belly Fat?

Can Drinking Water Help Me Lose Belly Fat?

How will drinking water help me lose belly fat? I know, I know—you already know you’re supposed to be drinking more water. You’re trying to drink your sixty-four ounces a day, but man, that is a lot of water! Well, what if I told you that drinking water not only is good for you in all the ways you already know, but that the simple act of drinking it can help you lose belly fat for good?

Some of you probably have heard how drinking water while eating can help you get to that “full” feeling faster. Studies show that you eat an average of ¼ less at a meal if you sip water throughout. That’s right, there is enough to make even the laziest person be able to say they are watching their weight. Sit down to a meal, add a big glass of water, and presto! Weight watched, right?

Now, one more thing what you may not know is that drinking water actually helps speed up your metabolism. Just as starving yourself is not an effective way to lose belly fat because your body will actually think you are living during a famine and will go into emergency storing up mode, so depriving your body of water does the same.

Your metabolism slows down when you are dehydrated, thus sending your body into that same state of panic that causes it to hang on to every little fat cell and water molecule it can find and makes it harder to get rid of stomach fat. It may seem counterintuitive but when the body goes into this “freak out” mode because it’s not getting the vital nutrition it needs, some terrible things can happen, both to your metabolism (and associated energy levels) as well as to your health.

It actually goes a little beyond simply feeling fuller during a meal and eating less. Our bodies trigger a response when they’re in need but far too often, we confuse that signal with hunger when that call for action might easily be eased by a tall glass of cold water.

When I say cold water I mean as cold as you can get it. Your body has to do quite a bit of work to handle that influx of icy chill. The very process of getting your body back to its normal temperature takes it some work and this burns calories and boosts your metabolism since you’re letting your body know that hey, there’s plenty coming in, now turn it into energy or save it for later.

The good news is that staying hydrated has the opposite effect—it boosts your metabolism and lets your body relax so it can burn belly fat and lose water weight it’s so desperately been clinging to. Now really, what is easier than that? Grab a bottle of water and watch those calories burn, baby burn!

Heart Healthy Eating Can Keep You Lean

Heart Healthy Eating Can Keep You Lean

What is heart healthy eating? First of all let’s talk about how obesity has become more of a problem than ever. High fat and calorie diets combined with sedentary lifestyles have forced us into an ongoing battle with weight. Almost 300,000 people in the US die every year from obesity, according to the NIDDK. For people who are serious about losing weight, belly fat exercise combined with heart healthy eating must be followed. There is no excuse – genetics, health problems, or other factors cannot let us be deterred from finding the right weight.

The best way to combat obesity is to join a fitness program and hire an online personal trainer or some other trainer that can help devise a nutrition plan. Everyone’s body is different, so it can be hard to find one blanket diet that works exclusively for everyone. An online personal trainer is a great choice as it allows for someone to skip having to find a local trainer who might not be as good. With an online trainer, you can devise an exercise routine appropriate for your level of physical fitness, and then create a solid diet plan.

A good diet to fight belly fat includes lots of whole grains, vegetables, lean proteins, and fruit. This is the best way to lose belly fat, as a natural diet with unprocessed foods is more conducive to energy and health. Many people suffering from obesity don’t realize that their diets may be responsible for a lack of energy. A diet that has too many additives, fat, salt, and calories is only going to lead to weight gain and sluggishness. However, if we combat that way of eating and focus on a healthy diet, we will naturally have more energy for exercise.

The obesity problem is raging, and the only way we can fight obesity is by finding a good fitness plan and incorporating a heart healthy diet. At least 30 minutes of cardio exercise of vigorous intensity is required for fat loss, while 60 minutes is ideal for long term weight loss. Keeping fat off is often harder than the initial weight loss that follows as a result of switching to a good diet and exercise plan.

What will heart healthy eating do for me?

The main thing behind keeping obesity to a minimum is making a commitment to health. By keeping weight off, one may extend life for many years, and feel much better in the process. Leading an active, healthy life is the only way to stay young and healthy for as long as possible, and the only way to truly combat obesity. If you are serious about finding our the quickest way to lose weight, you must be ready to change your diet and your activity levels until you can lose weight and keep it off. Your body will thank you, and you will be setting a good example for everyone who knows you, including your own family members – who must be supportive of your new lifestyle if you are to succeed.

5 Foods To Help You Fight Belly Fat

5 Foods To Help You Fight Belly Fat

I often get asked what the best ways to fight belly fat are. I”ll start by saying that there are certain things that are detrimental to your success in the Motivate Fitness Program and the five below rank right at the top.

Any list of foods that you should avoid could potentially go on for about a mile, especially in this day in age where the toxic combination of advancements in preservatives and “food science” is coupled with some brilliant marketing to convince us that what we’re buying is somehow good for us.

While admittedly, this is not a full, detailed list, the following five are among the most sinister food items which will inhibit your progress in getting a flat stomach, both due to their contents and due to the way they are packaged and marketed to us.

1. Frozen diet meals. These are the liars of the food world. They say ‘Eat me and you will lose stubborn belly fat!” Yeah…not so much. Most of these “diet” meals are so loaded with salt that you’ll be bloated for a week, and have so many chemicals and additives that you may as well eat the contents of your ball-point pen for all the nutrition you’ll get.

2. Diet sodas. Liars #2. Filled with artificial sweeteners, these fakers promise you’ll be skinny and happy. In reality, people who drink diet drinks are often more likely to gain weight and fail on their flat stomach diet than those who drank regular sodas. The reasons aren’t totally clear, but some experts think that the artificial sweeteners can actually make your body crave more calories, thus negating the diet drink in the first place.

3. Granola. While it may be the epitome in your mind of “health food,” most granolas are crazy-high in fats, sugars, and calories. Often they have artificial flavors and colors and end up being worse for you than many of the other cereals you can find on the grocery shelf. Now if you want to make your own granola, by all means do so! But that box you picked up and put in your cart? You’re better off with Cheerios.

4. Trail mix. Again, this one is usually thought to be a healthy staple of those rugged, outdoorsy-types that hike with their babies on their backs and have their own walking stick. However, what passes in the store for “trail mix” should probably be called “sugar bombs.” Chocolate, candy pieces, sugar-coated dried fruit—this is supposed to be healthy?? Not hardly.

5. Fruit smoothies. These sound like such a healthy treat—fruit, yogurt—what’s bad about that? Well, that yogurt has high fructose corn syrup in it, the fruit has added sugar, and the rest of the ingredients—who even knows what’s in there? Don’t be fooled by the fast-food companies “healthy” smoothie offering. Trust us—you can’t even pronounce most of what is in them let alone burn belly fat by consuming them.

Becoming lean will take work and will ultimately result in giving up some of the things you love. Start with the above five and find an alternative to replace them and you will thank me.
